Team and Spectator Information
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's cross country team will open up the 2011 campaign tomorrow in a triangular meet with Mid-American Conference opponents Bowling Green and Toledo in Toledo, Ohio.
The Eagles were selected as the top contender for the MAC title this fall thanks to the talented returning squad that includes the 2010 MAC Individual Champion Terefe Ejigu (Mount Cook, Wellington- Wellington College (New Zealand)). All-MAC honoree Harry Dixon (Nelson, New Zealand-Nayland College) and senior captain Austin Hendrix (Sylvania, Ohio-Northview) should post impressive times this season as well.
Toledo and Bowling Green were selected to place eighth and ninth, respectively, at the championships in November, however each squad will welcome back key components from last year's teams. Toledo will return All-MAC honorees, Jonathan DeWitt and junior Nick Thomas, while the Falcons keep top runner Jason Salyer.
The Rocket Open is slated for a 6 p.m. start at Ottawa Park in Toledo, Ohio.
