Donald Scott Wins Triple Jump on Day One of Len Paddock

Eagles primed for day two of U-M meet

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Freshman two-sport athlete Donald Scott opened day one of the Len Paddock Invitational today, May 6, in Ann Arbor, Mich., with a 49-00.75 leap and a win in the triple jump.
Scott, competing in just his third collegiate meet, posted his second consecutive win in the event and was only inches away from his best collegiate mark with the jump. His teammates Anthony Bradley and Heritier Ndele followed behind Scott in the event, as they finished third and fourth, respectively, with Bradley jumping 45-01.50, and Ndele posting a mark of 44-09.75.
Also in the field, senior co-captain Andrew Meyer placed fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 157-10. In the pole vault, EMU vaulters Max Babits and Joe Tesner finished third and fourth, respectively, with Babits falling just two inches short of his career-best, clearing a height of 16-04.75. Tesner's height was 15-11.00.
Chris Scott, another first-year athlete, posted his personal-best in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.16, seventh-place in the event. The time was nearly a half-second better than his previous best, which he set at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational in early April.
The Eagles had a deep field in the 1,500-meter event, racing seven runners. Wes Stoody had the best EMU finish with a time of 4:01.91 (sixth-place overall). Cody Chabola followed with a time of 4:05.44, and Matt Wines and Matt Hammersmith finished after him in sequence, with each clocking a time under 4:09. Rounding out the runners were Justin Huey (4:11.59) and Andrew Pfeiffer (4:19.74).
The Eagles will compete Saturday, May 7, to wrap up the Len Paddock Invite.
