The trio placed 2, 3, 7, respectively, in the 1,500-meter race
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field competed well in Florida this weekend, taking part in the annual Tom Jones Memorial Invitational at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla.
The Eagles stood out most with their performance in the 1,500-meter run, finishing 2-3-7 as Terefe Ejigu, Austin Hendrix and Colesanseverino crossed in that order.
Vanier Joseph also performed well, running in three races on the day. His best finish was in the 11-meter hurdles as he placed eighth with a time of 14.69. He also placed 10th in the 400-meter hurdles, as teammate Chris Scott was fourth in the event. Scott also ran with Joseph in the 4x400-meter run, helping the Eagles to an eighth-place result. In the 4x100-meter relay, Scott again ran the lead leg in helping EMU finish fourth.
Clint Allen, who was also a part of both relay races, was 11th in the 100-meter dash, running a 10.52.
Andrew Meyer competed in three field events for the Eagles, all throws, as the co-captain had his best finish in the shot put with a toss of 54-11.25, finishing fourth. In the discus, he had a throw of 138-06, while a measure of 160-10 was recorded for his hammer throw.
Eastern Michigan will play host the annual EMU Twilight next weekend, April 22-23, at Olds-Marshall Track inside of Rynearson Stadium.
