Bhatia Wins Singles Title at MSU Green-White Invite

Mebuke and Rivero win third-place matches
EAST LANSING, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Ankita Bhatia won the C Draw singles title here Sunday, Nov. 6, to lead the Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team to a solid final-day showing here in the Michigan State University Women's Tennis Green-White Invitational.
Bhatia defeated Wisconsin's Lauren Gruber, 6-3, 6-1, to capture the C Draw title. Teammates Nino Mebuke and Marcela Rivero each won their matches for third place, Mebuke beating Elena Strakhova (UDM), 6-7, 6-3, 10-7, in the A Draw while Rivero knocked off Dena Boulieris (Ball State), 6-0, 6-0, in the D Draw.
In addition, EMU's Daphne Friedrichs won her fifth-place match in the D Draw, beating Ball State's Lauren Pickrel, 6-2, 3-6, 10-8.
