EMU Has Strong First Day at MSU Green and White Invite

Four singles players and two doubles team advance in winner’s bracket
EAST LANSING, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The EMU women's tennis team came up with strong performances in both singles and doubles play here Friday, Nov. 4, in the first of two days in the Michigan State University Green and White Invitational hosted by Michigan State University.
In EMU singles action, Nino Mebuke (Tbilisi, Georgia), Ankita Bhatia (Gurgaon, India-Delhi Public Schools), Marcela Rivera (Santa Cruz, Bolivia-Saint George) and Georgia de'Lisle-Tarr (Adelaide, Australia-Sacred Heart) all won their opening matches and advanced in the winner's bracket on Saturday.
In doubles play, the EMU duo of Bhatia and Rivero won their first match as did Daphne Friedrichs (Hufingen, Germany-Elisa Brandstrom Schule) who was matched with Northern Illinois player Chloe Karoub. Both of those teams will continue play in the winner's bracket tomorrow.
