Men's Swimming and Diving Falls to Grizzlies

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's swimming and diving team dropped their home dual-meet matchup with the Oakland University Grizzlies, 116-182, today, Nov. 12, at Jones Natatorium.
The Green and White won five of today's 16 events, with Jeffrey Craig and Jacob Hanson both taking home multiple victories.
Craig was the top performer in the one and three-meter dives. He tallied 372.30 points on the one-meter boards and posted 386.25 points in the three-meter event to top all competitors this afternoon.
Andrew Saunders also performed well in both events, taking second in the one and three meter events with scores of 315.00 and 371.10, respectively.
Hanson's victories came in 100 and 200 Backstroke distances as well as the 200 Individual Medley. The Normal, Ill. native was the first to touch the wall in the 100 and 200 Back at 50.04 and 1:48.66, and his 1:53.48 time in the 200 IM was good enough for his final first place performance of the day.
Teammate Troy Esentan picked up a pair of second place finishes this afternoon, swimming times of 58.91 and 2:07.44 in the Breaststroke events.
Brian Moore also faired well for the Green and White. He finished second in the 100 Freestyle (47.21) and third in the 200 Free (1:43.25).
The Eagles (0-2, 0-0 MAC) will remain idle until Dec. 2 when they host the EMU Invitational at Jones Natatorium. The meet is slated for a 3:30 p.m. start.
