- The Eastern Michigan University women's soccer team has a tough task on its hands this weekend as they take on a pair of Mid-American Conference unbeatens in Bowling Green and Miami. The Eagles (4-5-2, 1-0-1 MAC) will host the Falcons (4-6-1, 2-0 MAC) on Friday before traveling to Oxford, Ohio to take on Miami (9-2-0, 2-0 MAC) for a Sunday matinee.

EMU is coming off its highest scoring output in more than a year after defeating Akron at home, 4-1, Sunday, Sept. 26. The Green and White will look to extend its four-match win streak over BGSU while trying to avenge a home loss to Miami from a year ago. Friday's start time is slated for 4 p.m. at Scicluna Field.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS: Bowling Green State University is riding a three-match win streak after starting out just 1-6-1 through its first eight games and is 2-0 in MAC play. During the streak, the Falcons have outscored their opponents, 8-2, and includes shutouts against Buffalo and Kent State at home in its previous two contests. Alyssa Zuccaro erupted for her first career hat trick in a 4-0 win over Buffalo, Friday, Sept. 24. She now leads the team with 15 points (6 G, 3 A). Sarah VonderBrink and Katie Stephenson have added two goals apiece as well. Goalkeeper Alexa Arsenault has made seven starts en route to a 4-2-1 record, making 38 saves and posting two shutouts in the process.

A LOOK AT THE REDHAWKS: Miami University enters the weekend sporting a six-match win streak, its longest since 2002. The RedHawks currently sit with a 9-2 overall record including a 2-0 MAC start. They bested Kent State and Buffalo to open conference play and will host Central Michigan before taking on the Eagles this weekend. MU has outscored its opponents by a whopping margin of 37-16, led by Katy Dolesh's six goals. Jess Kodiak leads four RedHawks already in double-digits in points as she has 18 (5 G, 8A) thus far. Rachelle Boff has emerged as Miami's top goalkeeper in three-keeper system, making six starts while compiling a 5-1 record. Kris Gasparovic has made three starts, posting three shutouts and having yet to allow a goal.

LAST TIME OUT: The Eagles hosted their first two Mid-American Conference matches at home last weekend, working a scoreless draw to Ohio before defeating Akron, 4-1. Few scoring chances were had in EMU's match with Ohio as each side played to a score of 0-0 for the second straight meeting. The Eagles bounced back in their next match against Akron to post a season-high four goals, two of which were converted by freshman Stephanie Clarke. Seniors Maggie Christensen and Paige Sheridan also added goals while fellow senior Monique Budani made seven saves to secure the victory.

BATTLE OF UNBEATENS: The Eagles are one of five unbeaten teams entering MAC play this weekend. That will change as EMU does battle with two other unbeaten squads in Bowling Green (2-0) and Miami (2-0) Oct. 1 and 3, respectively. The Eagles currently own a four-match win streak over BGSU and look to avenge a home defeat to Miami from one year ago.

HALL REACHES 120 WINS: Head Coach Scott Hall captured his 120th career victory with a 4-1 win over Akron, Sunday, Sept. 26. Now in his 12th season, Hall has the second-most wins by an active coach in the Mid-American Conference, right behind Miami's Bobby Kramig, who has 141 career victories in 14 seasons.

OFFENSE COMES TO LIFE: With its 4-1 victory over Akron Sunday, Sept. 26, Eastern Michigan recorded its highest scoring output since a, 5-0, win over Loyola College (Md.) Sept. 13, 2009. It was also the most goals scored for an Eagle squad at Scicluna Field since Sept. 26, 2008, when they defeated Miami by a score, 5-0.

A FRESH START: Freshman Stephanie Clarke enjoyed a breakout performance when she tallied two goals and an assist in Eastern Michigan's victory over Akron. It was the first five points of her career and proved to be a game-changing performance for EMU. Her first goal was the result of a converted penalty kick followed by an aggressive play on goal to head in her second goal.

MAC ROAD SUCCESS: The Eagles are unbeaten on the road during the MAC regular season since 2007. In MAC road openers, EMU is unbeaten since 2007. All three ties have come to Akron and Buffalo with the lone win coming at Miami in 2007. The Eagles will look to extend that streak when they open up on the road against Miami, Sunday, Oct. 3.

STILL UNBEATEN: EMU remained unbeaten all-time in MAC home openers after playing Ohio to a scoreless draw, Friday, Sept. 24. The Eagles are now 11-0-3 against its conference foes.

A ONE SIDED AFFAIR:
After defeating Akron, 4-1, Sunday, Sept. 26, EMU extended its unbeaten streak over the Zips to seven games. The Eagles are 5-0-2 and have outscored Akron, 17-4, while also posting four shutouts dating back to 2003.
