SCOUTING THE CARDINALS: Ball State University is 6-8-2 overall and still seeking its first Mid-American Conference victory of the 2010 campaign as they sit 0-6-2 in conference action. The Cardinals were nearly victorious in each match against Bowling Green at home and Buffalo on the road, both which ended in ties. On the season, BSU has been outscored 30-21 by its opponents. Offensively, the Cardinals are paced by Sarah Orisich's four goals and 10 points on the season. Paige Stroinski has added two goals with a team-leading three assists. In goal, Aubrey Buehler has compiled a 5-6-1 record in split time in net this season. She has a 1.47 GAA while making 29 saves on the year.

A LOOK AT THE ROCKETS: The University of Toledo is in the midst of its longest winning streak in school history, which enters the weekend at nine matches. The Rockets have started an impressive 8-0 in Mid-American Conference play this season with all but two matches resulting in one goal games. Brittany Hensler leads UT with seven goals and 15 points on the season with three scores going for game-winners. Kristen Lynn and Rachel MacLeod have added five goals on the year. In goal, Vicki Traven has allowed just 14 goals in 15 starts, making 63 saves while posting seven shutouts.

LAST TIME OUT: The Eagles stayed unbeaten through its first eight games of the conference ledger, defeating Northern Illinois, 3-1, before drawing with Western Michigan, 1-1, in the regular season home finale. Senior Paige Sheridan and freshman Stephanie Clarke each tallied a goal and an assist in the win over NIU while Monique Budani made seven saves in goal for EMU. Sunday's contest against WMU was also Senior Day for this year's Eagle seniors and Sheridan made the most of the moment, recording her fourth goal in as many games to draw first blood. However, the Eagles couldn't hang on to the shutout victory as the Broncos knotted things up in the second half. After two scoreless overtime periods, EMU and WMU shared its second tie in as many meetings.

GOAL ORIENTED: Senior forward Paige Sheridan has been on an impressive streak of late, scoring goals in six of her last seven games including one in each of her last four contests. She is tied for the league lead in goals with eight and has the most of any MAC player during league play this season with six. Her eight goals are also a career-high and equal half of her career total (16). And she's making it count when it matters most as she has a team-high three game-winning scores.

DOWN THE STRETCH THEY COME: Few teams have already punched their tickets to the 2010 MAC Tournament while several others are jostling for position as three matches remain in the MAC regular season. Clinching MAC Tournament berths already is Toledo and Central Michigan which are tied for first in the West Division with 8-0 records, as well as, Eastern Michigan which is 5-0-3. Miami leads the East Division with a 4-3-1 MAC mark, but has Bowling Green and Ohio close behind them with each sporting 2-3-3 records in the MAC. The winners of each division will earn the top two seeds in the tournament followed by the remaining six best teams regardless of division.

MAC WEST DOMINANCE: The 2010 season is the first in which the Mid-American Conference has split into two divisions for women's soccer. In 37 cross-divisional matches through Oct. 17, the West Division has displayed a dominant, 25-5-7, edge over their East Division foes. Eastern Michigan concluded its cross-divisional schedule, going 4-0-2 with ties to Miami and Ohio. All three remaining unbeaten teams reside in the West Division including Toledo and Central Michigan which are each 8-0, followed by EMU (5-0-3).

BUDANI SEEKS ANOTHER RECORD: Senior goalkeeper Monique Budani is just two saves shy of breaking the all-time single-season saves record which currently stands at 126 saves set by Erin Norton ('00) back in 1997. Already the all-time career saves leader in EMU history, Budani leads the nation with 125 saves on the year and is averaging nearly eight saves per contest with a save percentage of .862, ranking her 25th among all Division I goalkeepers.

MAC ROAD SUCCESS: The Eagles have gone 12 straight regular season MAC road matches unbeaten dating back to 2008. EMU suffered its last conference road loss to Northern Illinois by a score of 1-0 back on Oct. 28, 2007. They are 6-0-6 during their current streak.
