MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team dropped its regular season finale Saturday night, March 14, at Rose Arena, as the Eagles fell, 194.650-193.750, to the Central Michigan University Chippewas.
The Eagles finish the regular season with a 6-10 (3-3 MAC) record.
The Eagles were led by junior gymnast Erin Grigg (North Bay, Ontario-Widdifield) who notched a 9.825 and a 9.800 on the vault and balance beam, respectively, to lead EMU. Grigg also tallied a 9.650 on the bars and a 9.750 in the floor exercise to finish with an all-around score of 39.025 against the Chips.
Senior Maureen Moss (Gurnee, Ill.-Warren Township) carded a career-high mark on the balance beam, as her 9.825 tied for second overall with CMU's Kyla Krygier.
Senior Monica Lucas (Winston-Salem, N.C.-Reynolds) tallied a 9.750 on the vault, while sophomores Grace Crouch (Bellbrook, Ohio-Bellbrook) and Jessica Perdoch (Reading, Pa.- Exeter Township) both carded a 9.750 on the balance beam in the loss.
The Eagles head to Muncie, Ind. for the 2009 Mid-American Conference Championship, March 21, at 1 p.m.
