Gymnastics Drops Regular Season Finale At CMU

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.
The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team dropped its regular season finale Saturday night, March 14, at Rose Arena, as the Eagles fell, 194.650-193.750, to the Central Michigan University Chippewas.

 

The Eagles finish the regular season with a 6-10 (3-3 MAC) record.

 

The Eagles were led by junior gymnast Erin Grigg (North Bay, Ontario-Widdifield) who notched a 9.825 and a 9.800 on the vault and balance beam, respectively, to lead EMU. Grigg also tallied a 9.650 on the bars and a 9.750 in the floor exercise to finish with an all-around score of 39.025 against the Chips.

 
Senior Maureen Moss (Gurnee, Ill.-Warren Township) carded a career-high mark on the balance beam, as her 9.825 tied for second overall with CMU's Kyla Krygier. 

Senior Monica Lucas (Winston-Salem, N.C.-Reynolds) tallied a 9.750 on the vault, while sophomores Grace Crouch (Bellbrook, Ohio-Bellbrook) and Jessica Perdoch (Reading, Pa.- Exeter Township) both carded a 9.750 on the balance beam in the loss.

 

The Eagles head to Muncie, Ind. for the 2009 Mid-American Conference Championship, March 21, at 1 p.m.
