YPSILANTI, Mich.—
The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team dropped its fifth straight Mid-American Conference tilt, falling 66-51 to the Miami RedHawks here Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Convocation Center.

Freshman Antonio Green (Redford, Mich.-Robichaud) hit a career high 11 points in the contest, which included two three-pointers and four buckets from inside the arc. Sophomore Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) led the Eagles in scoring with 16 points.

The Eagles, 3-18 overall and 1-6 in the MAC, were without Head Coach Charles E. Ramsey for a third straight game. Ramsey continued to be sidelined with a benign case of vertigo Associate Head Coach Derrick McDowell assumed the head coaching duties in the meantime. Miami improves to 12-7 and 5-2 in MAC play.

Both teams shot under 50 percent from the field for the game. The Eagles went 21-for-46 (45.7 percent) while the RedHawks shot 27-for-55 (49.1 percent). The Green and White drained just three of 11 shots from three-point range while Miami sunk four of 12. Miami out-rebounded the Eagles, 35-23, in the game.

Michael Bramos, Tyler Dierkers and Adam Fletcher all hit double figures for the RedHawks with 14, 18 and 16 points, respectively.

An exciting four minutes of end-to-end action got the game started with both teams remaining deadlocked at 4-4 until a Bramos three-pointer gave the RedHawks an early 7-4 lead with 17:07 remaining in the first half.

Despite commanding ball control by the Eagles, they could not get the rock to fall, which allowed Miami to quietly put together an 8-0 run to go ahead, 12-4. A pair of buckets by junior Justin Dobbins (Cleveland, Ohio-Glenville) and senior Wendale Farrow (Sacramento, Calif.-Mira Loma (American River J.C.) ended the streak and cut the deficit to four, 12-8, with 11:59 to play in the first.

With 6:52 remaining in the first half, Dobbins drew the and-one foul and made the ensuing free throw to make the score 18-13 in favor of the RedHawks. Bowdry then made it 20-17 with a two-pointer under the bucket with 4:50 to play.

In the closing minutes of the half, EMU failed to convert on several possessions including a costly turnover which resulted in an easy fast-break layup for Miami, putting it ahead, 27-19. Redshirt freshman L.J. Frazier (Ypsilanti, Mich.-Ypsilanti) added a bucket in the closing seconds to make the halftime score 27-21 for the RedHawks.

The Eagles ended the half shooting 10-of-27 (37 percent) from the field and were unsuccessful from three-point land in six attempts. Miami went 11-of-30 (36.7 percent) overall and 2-of-7 (28.6 percent) from behind the arc.

Green got the second half scoring started for the Eagles with a three-pointer at 18:45 to make it a 33-24 game after Miami started the half on a 6-0 run. At 16:14, he hit a second trey to make it 34-27.

An 11-2 run by Miami through the following few minutes dug the Eagles an even deeper hole and gave the visitors a commanding 45-29 advantage with 11:43 to play. The RedHawks streak included six straight points from Dierkers, which gave him 14 at that point.

With 7:24 remaining, Bowdry hit a jumper to record his 10th point of the game and put the score at 51-37. Tyler Jones then converted four consecutive shots from the charity stripe to cut Miami's lead to 10, 51-41.

Both sides were fairly consistent in trading-off baskets in the closing four minutes of the game, but it would be the RedHawks who had the advantage in the end as they went on to record the decisive victory, 66-51.
