Ellison Named Swimmer of the Week

Junior helped EMU to its 50th consecutive MAC dual meet win
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Junior swimmer Don Ellison was named Mid-American Conference swimmer of the week, the conference office announced today. This marks the first time in his career that Ellison has won the weekly award. Ellison helped the Eagles to their 50th consecutive MAC dual meet win over the weekend with a win over Miami University.
Against the RedHawks Feb. 2, the Eagles recorded a 191.5-108.5 victory to keep their consecutive win streak intact. Ellison, from King City, Ontario, won three individual events for the Green and White on the day.
Ellison won the 100 breaststroke (58.76), as well as the 200 breaststroke (2:06.54) on the afternoon. He also captured the 200 IM (1:55.26).
EMU is off until the conference championships, taking place in Nashville, Tenn. in conjunction with the Sun Belt Conference. The meet is scheduled to start Feb. 28 at noon.
