Stephany Fleet Selected Academic All-MAC

CLEVELAND, Ohio –
Sophomore Stephany Fleet (Dewitt, Mich-Dewitt), was named Academic All-Mid-American Conference, the conference office announced Wednesday morning. Fleet was also named to the All-MAC first team for her efforts this year.Fleet, who boasts a 3.86 GPA in business, earns her first selection to the Academic All-MAC team. In 30 rounds, Fleet averaged 77.3 strokes per round, good for eighth best in the MAC during this season. The Dewitt, Mich. native finished in the top 20 in nine events, including placing in the top five four different times.
She claimed medalist honors at the Saluki Invitational (March 26) by firing a 36-hole total 145 (72-73), leading the Eagles to victory. With her victory she became just the ninth Eagle in school history to claim medalist honors. Fleet twice collected MAC Golfer of the Week accolades along with earning the MAC’s Scholar Athlete of the Week for the period ending Oct. 1
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
