Soccer Earns Fourth Highest Grade Point Average in Nation

Eagles recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)
YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team has been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for their outstanding team grade point average. The team was given the Team Academic Award, an honor bestowed upon any team that posts a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better during the 2005-2006 academic year.
The NSCAA recognized 232 women’s soccer programs for this achievement in 2006, and the Eagles’ 3.51 team GPA was the fourth highest of any of those 232 programs across all levels (NCAA Division I, II, and III, and NAIA).
EMU was one of four Mid-American Conference schools to earn the team award, along with Central Michigan, Miami, and Toledo. Three MAC schools – EMU, CMU, and Toledo – ranked among the top 10 team GPA’s of NCAA Division I programs.
