Muncie, Ind. -- The Eastern Michigan University men’s swimming and diving team defeated Ball State University, 135.5-99.5, Saturday afternoon, Jan. 13, to move its Mid-American Conference regular-season dual meet victory total to 45 consecutive wins. EMU has been perfect in conference action the past eight seasons and has not lost a league meet since the 1997-98 campaign.
Derrick Roe (50 and 100 freestyle) and Dan Wohl (1000 freestyle and 200 IM) won dual individual events for the Eagles, while Jason Piercey (200 freestyle), Ryan Fulkerson (200 butterfly) and Mark Kurtzer (200 backstroke) each won one event. The 400 medley relay team of Kurtzer, Chris Meyers, Fulkerson and Roe was also victorious.
The Eagles (4-1, 2-0 MAC) will return to the pool Friday, Jan. 19, for a non-conference dual meet with Wayne State at 3 p.m. in Jones Natatorium.
