TOLEDO, Ohio – The Eastern Michigan University softball team swept Mid-American Conference West Division foe Toledo University here Friday at Scott Park. The Eagles took game one 15-3 in five innings and the nightcap 11-3. EMU broke two school records in the victories.

Lindsay Schmid (Madison, Ohio-Madison) three RBI

EMU scored four, six and five runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings respectively to put away the Rockets in five innings. UT plated all three of its runs in the fourth.

In the nightcap, the Green and White picked up where it left off in game one, scoring seven unanswered runs through the first two and a half innings. Toledo scored all three of its runs in the bottom of the third to cut the EMU advantage to 7-3. The Eagles added two runs in the sixth and seventh.

Senior pitcher Nikki Denman (Toledo, Ohio-Sylvania Southview) pitched the complete game allowing two runs to move to 8-6 on the season.
