Junior named Swimmer of the Week after leading the Eagles to first place EMU Invitational finish

CLEVELAND, Ohio--Eastern Michigan junior Jason Piercey (Dayton, Ohio-Fairborn) was named Mid-American Conference Male Swimmer of the Week the conference office announced today. The weekly award is the second for Piercey who earned the honor as a freshman on Jan. 27 2004.

Piercey won three individual events and swam on the winning 800-yard freestyle relay squad to help lead the Eagles to a first-place finish in the 10-team EMU Invitational, Dec. 2-3. Piercey’s wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.22), 500 freestyle (4:31.18) and 1,650 freestyle in 15:19.03 were all MAC-best times this season.
