Zach Metkler is in his first year as an offensive analyst at Eastern Michigan University, where he works closely with the offensive line.

Metkler most recently served as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Manchester University from 2023-25. During his tenure, he helped develop multiple All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) selections, including wide receiver Levi Campbell (2024 Second Team) and several honorable mentions across offensive positions in 2023. He was also selected to participate in the 2025 NCAA and NFL Coaches Academy.

Prior to Manchester, Metkler held roles at the University of Rhode Island as director of football operations, assistant offensive line coach, director of player personnel, and pro liaison in 2022. He also coached at Allegheny College (defensive backs and defensive line), Utica University (running backs), and Fox Chapel Area High School, where he was the run game coordinator and JV head coach.

A Springdale, Pa., native and graduate of Springdale High School, Metkler was an All-Conference and All-Academic honoree before continuing his football career at Allegheny College, where he played offensive line from 2013-17. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience and psychology, with a minor in global health studies, in 2017.

He is USA Weightlifting Level 1 certified and a member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) since 2021. An Eagle Scout, Metkler lives with his wife, Becky, and their Bluetick Coonhound mix, Annie, and cat, Roo. Outside of football, he enjoys playing the saxophone and performing in theater—passions he’s pursued since childhood.
