Beatrice Korte enters her second season as an assistant coach for Eastern Michigan for the 2020-21 season after spending the past five seasons as a graduate assistant and volunteer assistant coach for the Eagles. Korte serves as the head novice coach.

Despite only being able to race in the fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic canceling the spring slate, the novice still posted strong results in their two showings. The Novice Eight began the season by claiming second at the Head of the Grand. Then, at the Head of the Hooch, the Novice Four won their race while the Novice Eight posted a program-best second-place finish in its race.

In three seasons prior, the Ypsilanti, Mich. native assisted head coach Kemp Savage as a volunteer assistant, helping improve the Eagles' conference results steadily each season. After a fifth-place finish in 2017, Eastern Michigan placed fourth in 2018 and matched their best conference finish of third place in 2019 at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships.

As a graduate assistant from 2014-2016, Korte helped guide the Green and White to their highest conference finish in program history in 2016, finishing in third place at the CAA Championships.

Prior to being a graduate assistant, Korte spent four seasons as a member of the Eagles’ rowing team. Beginning as a novice, Korte was elevated to varsity for three seasons as an Eagle.

Korte holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and master’s in sport management from Eastern Michigan University.
