Nick Madray is entering his first season as a graduate assistant with the Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball program in 2022-23. A two-year member of the Eagles’ program as a player, Madray returns to Ypsilanti following a five-year professional playing career in Europe.
 
A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Madray began his collegiate career at Binghamton University where he played for the Bearcats in both the 2013-14 and 2014-15 campaigns. He then transferred to Eastern where he represented the Green and White in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.
 
Madray, who was named to the 2016-17 Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, earned his degree in Sport Management from Eastern in 2017. From there, he moved to Europe where he played for eight different teams in his five-year career.
 
With 31 career double-doubles to his credit, Madray’s best season came in 2019-20 when he averaged 14.3 points and 9.3 rebounds for Kotwica Kolobrzeg. For his efforts, he was named Eurobasket Polish 1-Liga Second Team All-League.
 
His other stops included Polish sides Miasto Szkla Krosno (2017-18), Spojnia Stargard (2018-19), Decka Pelplin (2020-21) and WKK Wroclaw (2021-22). Madray also made appearances for Sheffield Sharks (United Kingdom) and Basket Azuqueqa (Spain) in 2018-19, and the Saskatchewan Rattlers (Canada) in 2020-21.
