2022: Started in 33 of his 39 appearances in the outfield for the Eagles…Finished with a .261 batting average, leading all freshmen with 30 hits, four home runs, and 20 RBIs…Recorded a fielding percentage of .963 in his rookie season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Essexville Garber High School where he played in the outfield under Head Coach Jon Jeczmionka...A three-year letterwinner for the Dukes, Hugo batted .423 with 32 RBIs on 44 hits, 14 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 19 stolen bases, and 34 runs scored for an OBP of .508 during his senior season...Was selected to the All-Conference, All-District, and All-Region team in all three years for Essexville Garber (no junior season due to COVID-19)...Also participated in the Michigan High School Coaches Association All-Star game at Comerica Park his senior year along with the region all-star game at Dow Diamond, home of the Great Lakes Loons of the MiLB.
