Eagles land on national list for the eighth time in program history

NORMAN, Okla. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced the 2025-26 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award recipients today, Aug. 5, with the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team earning a place on the list for the eighth time in program history. The Eagles were one of 174 NCAA Division I teams that earned recognition this year.
 
To be eligible for the award, a team needed to maintain a 3.0+ cumulative grade-point average for the 2025-26 season.  The Eagles earned the accolade for the eighth time since the start of the 2014-15 academic year and their first since the 2020-21 season.
 
In addition to the team honor, four Eagles were named to the 2025-26 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars two days earlier (Aug. 3), including Charlie Box (Leicester, England/Wreake Valley Academy/Hutchinson CC), Tim Chan (Hong Kong, China/Loretto School/VCU), Rory McDonald-O'Brien (Shrewsbury, England/Shrewsbury School/USC-Aiken), and Leo Mihaich (Bell Ville, Argentina/Figuero Alcorta Normal School/Oklahoma Christian).
