Foeman Announces Volleyball Non-Conference Schedule

Eagles will play 12 non-conference matches against opponents from nine different conferences

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University Athletics and fourth-year Head Volleyball Coach Kevin Foeman revealed the Eagles' 2026 non-conference schedule Friday, July 24.
The Eagles are set for 12 non-conference matches, 10 of which take place on the road while two will be played at the George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti, where admission is free. Eastern will take on opponents from nine different conferences, including the Horizon League, Ohio Valley Conference, Missouri Valley Conference, Atlantic 10 Conference, Colonial Athletic Association, Big Sky Conference, American Athletic Conference, Big Ten Conference, and the Ivy League.
Before the regular season begins, Eastern will play two exhibition matches. EMU will first battle in-state foe, Michigan State, Wednesday, Aug. 19, 6 p.m. Following the scrimmage at MSU, Eastern will face the Mastodons of Purdue Fort Wayne Friday, Aug. 21, 2 p.m., in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
The Eagles will fly into the regular season with the USI Invitational, hosted by Southern Indiana, in Evansville, Friday-Saturday, Aug. 28-29. There, they will face former Mid-American Conference foe, Northern Illinois Friday at 10 a.m., before taking on hosts Southern Indiana later that day at 7 p.m., and Murray State Saturday at 11 a.m.
Next, EMU will travel east to compete in the Chick-fil-A Robinson Classic co-hosted by Robert Morris and Duquesne, Friday-Saturday, Sept. 4-5. The Eagles will play two games on Friday, with the first coming against Duquesne at 11 a.m., followed by a match versus Robert Morris at 6 p.m. Eastern will close out the tournament facing Elon Saturday at 12 p.m.
Eastern is slated to open the home portion of its regular season with a match against Illinois State Sunday, Sept. 6, at 2:30 p.m.
Returning to the road, the Eagles will move on to nearby Rochester, Mich., for the Golden Grizzlies Invitational, hosted by Oakland, Friday-Saturday, Sept. 11-12. Among Oakland, Eastern will go up against Montana and UAB, opening the weekend slate with a matchup against Montana Friday at 12 p.m., followed by a battle with the Blazers at 5 p.m. It will conclude the invitational with one match against host Oakland Saturday at 3 p.m.
The Eagles will close out their non-conference competition facing Michigan on the road Thursday, Sept. 17, 7 p.m., and Cornell at home, Friday, Sept. 18, 5 p.m.
