Whitelaw Announces 2026 Cross Country Schedule

The Eagles will compete in six regular-season meets before entering postseason action

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University Head Cross Country Coach Austin Whitelaw announced the men's and women's 2026 schedule Wednesday, July 22.

The Eagles are slated for six regular-season meets before entering postseason action beginning with the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Cross Country Championships, hosted by Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Mich., Friday, Oct. 30.

Eastern will start its season at the Jeff Drenth Memorial, hosted by Central Michigan University, in Shepherd Friday, Sept. 4.

The Eagles will next travel to East Lansing, where they will compete in the Spartan Invitational, hosted by Michigan State University, Friday, Sept. 11.

Eastern remains in-state for the programs' third meet, heading to the George Dales Invitational, hosted by Western Michigan University, in Kalamazoo Friday, Sept. 18.

The remaining three regular-season meets will take place in October, as the Eagles prepare for their first out-of-state meet at the University of Notre Dame, where they will compete in the Joe Piane Invitational in South Bend, Ind., Friday, Oct. 2.

Next, they will travel to Terre Haute, Ind., to compete in the Pre-National Invitational, hosted by Indiana State University, Friday, Oct. 16.

The Eagles will return to southeast Michigan for their lone home meet of the 2026 campaign, as they will host the EMU Fall Classic Friday, Oct. 23, in Dexter to conclude the regular season.

Following the MAC Championships, qualifying harriers will advance to the regional round of the postseason with the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Michigan State, in East Lansing, Mich., Friday, Nov. 13. The season will conclude with the NCAA Cross Country Championships, hosted by Indiana State, in Terre Haute, Ind., Saturday, Nov. 21.
