AKRON, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team finished second at the 2026 Mid-American Conference Championships as Savannah de Bock placed third individually to lead the Eagles in the three-day tournament held on the Fazio Course at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, April 26-28. The Eagles, who earned their eighth runner-up finish at the conference event, saw three individuals place in the top 10 for just the fifth time in program history with de Bock earning MAC All-Tournament accolades for her top five finish.
In the team standings, Kent State University made it 27-for-27 in capturing the MAC Championships as the Golden Flashes shot 9-under 831 to take the crown while the Eagles took second at 13-over 853 (281-290-282). Bowling Green State University, who finished ahead of the Eagles last year and led the Green and White heading into the final day, placed third at 22-over 862 while Ball State University and the University of Akron rounded out the top five at 32-over 872 and 49-over 889, respectively. With its win, Kent State earned the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Regionals.
Individually, de Bock (Ecaussinnes-d'enghien, Belgium/Institut de l'Enfant-Jésus-Lycée/Georgia) led the way for Eastern over each of the three rounds and finished third at even-par 210 (68-70-72) to tie for the second-best finish in program history behind only Sarah Johnson, who won the MAC title in 2011. With her finish, de Bock earned MAC All-Tournament honors for the first time in her career as she posted her first top 10 finish in the MAC after tying for 11th last year. Additionally, her score broke the record for lowest 54-hole score in a MAC Championship for the program, surpassing the 216 Johnson shot while winning her crown. KSU's Veronika Kedronova won the title at 7-under 203.
Two more Eagles joined de Bock in the top 10 as Baiyok Sukterm (Bang Yi, Thailand/Panitchayakan Rajdamnern Tech/Lindsey Wilson) tied for sixth and Janae Leovao (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino/Long Beach State) tied for ninth. Sukterm used a final-round 69 to shoot 2-over 212 (71-72-69), which ranks as the second-best score by an Eagle at the MAC event, while Leovao finished at 4-over 214 (70-74-70) for the third-best score in a conference event for the program. Jasmine Leovao (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino/Long Beach State) just missed the top 10 as she tied for 12th at 7-over 217 (72-74-71).
Matilde Zocchi (Turin, Italy/Liceo Vittoria) played her only round of the tournament on the final day as she substituted into the lineup in place of Erina Tan (Belmont, Western Australia/Mount Lawley Senior), who competed in the opening two rounds. Zocchi shot 6-over 76 on the day.

» After finishing third last year and second this season, the Eagles have posted back-to-back top three finishes for the first time since the 2013-15 seasons. In that three-year run, Eastern placed tied for second (2013), third (2014), and second (2015).
» Eastern shot 853 over three days to post its best score in a MAC Championship event and the second-best score in program history. The only 54-hole score better came earlier this month at the Chevron Silverado Showdown (April 6-8) when the Eagles shot 849.
» The 853 strokes marked only the second time in program history Eastern finished the 54-hole event with a score under 906 with the first coming in 2016 when the Eagles shot 896.
