CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University track and field student-athlete Kian Wiles was named Mid-American Conference Men's Scholar Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday, Feb. 4.

Wiles (Hull, England/St. Mary's College) earned the honor after winning the mile championship at the Meyo Invitational, a meet hosted by the University of Notre Dame, Jan. 30-31, with a time of 3:59.78, a time that currently leads the MAC and is the fifth best in Eastern program history. This award is the first of Wiles' career and the second for the Eagles this season, as Jake McEachern earned the accolade Jan. 14.

The MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week Award is presented to a MAC male and/or female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition.
