Senior played a big role in the Eagles defeating Oregon on the road last week

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly academic awards with Eastern Michigan University lacrosse senior Tracy Grollman selected as the MAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced today, Feb. 25. Grollman was instrumental in helping Eastern score its first win over a 'Power 4' opponent in program history ahead of earning her second career academic honor from the MAC.

Grollman (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis Area Christian School) had a big week for the Eagles as she tallied seven points on four goals and three assists, including four points on two goals and two assists in the 12-9 win at the University of Oregon (Feb. 22) for the program's first defeat of a 'Power 4' opponent. After scoring two goals and adding an assist at Canisius University (Feb. 18), Grollman was instrumental in helping Eastern down the Ducks on the road as her first goal started a six-goal second quarter while her second tied the score at 6-6 on the way to a 9-7 halftime lead. Both of her assists helped extend the EMU lead to two goals as well. Grollman, who recorded her sixth career game with multiple goals and multiple assists in the same contest, tied her season-high in points she set at Marquette in the opener. Her ninth career game with multiple assists, Grollman now has 100 career points and is only the second player in program history to reach the century mark while sitting on 42 career assists, which leaves her three away from the program record.

With the award, Grollman became the first player in program history to garner the MAC's weekly academic honor while collecting the fourth accolade for the Eagles. Mackenzie Blackwell (North Beach, Md./Northern) was the first player in program history to be named the MAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week when she was selected April 9, 2025. Grollman followed with her first, April 22, 2025. The EMU lacrosse team has secured the academic honor in back-to-back weeks as Kelsea Dague (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) earned the nod last week (Feb. 19).

The Eagles return to action Sunday, March 1, with their first of two games in the Volunteer State when Eastern faces first-year program Austin Peay State University at 11 a.m. CT (12 p.m. ET) in Clarksville, Tenn. Three days later, the Eagles will look to knock off another 'Power 4' squad when they head to Nashville, Tenn., to face Vanderbilt University, March 4, at 12 p.m. CT (1 p.m. ET). Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
