Natalie Buratczuk Wins High Jump at Track and Field's Silverston Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University track and field programs competed in the Silverston Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan, at the U-M Indoor Track Building in Ann Arbor, Mich., Friday, Feb. 20, where Natalie Buratczuk won the women's high jump with a clearance of 1.65m (5-05.00).
The men and women combined for an event win and three personal best performances.
How it Happened – Women
The Eastern women were highlighted by Buratczuk (Saint Charles, Ill./Saint Charles North) and Shamoya Clemetson (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) earning first and second in the high jump, respectively, as Clemetson followed Buratczuk with a clearance of 1.60m (5-03.00).
The Eagles also saw multiple top five finishes. Uduak Udosoh (Abak, Nigeria/Ibiaku Clan Community Secondary) finished fourth in the 400m with a time of 57.20.
In the field events, Kaydence Doxley (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood) earned fourth in the long jump with a leap of 4.56m (17-11.00), and she was followed by Alimot Alowonle (Lagos, Nigeria/Tindip College/New Orleans) in fifth with a 5.44m (17-10.25) mark.
Megan Rybitski (Dayton, Ohio/Wayne) cleared 3.70m (12-01.50) in the pole vault for fourth place, and Aleah Johnson (Botkins, Ohio/Botkins) earned fourth place in the weight throw with a toss of 15.71m (51-06.50).
Jaeden Garraway (Whitby, Ontario/Bill Crothers Secondary) ran a personal best 7.75 in the 60m dash finals, and Cara Weber (Union, Ky./Larry A. Ryle) ran a personal best 5:34.59 in the mile.
How it Happened – Men
The men earned multiple top three finishes. The weight throw saw DeMarrio Roetherford (Detroit, Mich./Wyandotte/Madonna) earn second with a toss of 18.88m (61-11.50), followed by Ray Glory-Ejoyokah (Southfield, Mich./Wylie E. Groves), who finished third with a 17.89m (58-08.50) mark.
Mill Coleman III (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Catholic Central) finished third in the 60m hurdles finals in 8.38, and Sam Vesperman (Grosse Ile, Mich./Grosse Ile) cleared 4.60m (15-01.00) for third place in the pole vault. Vesperman was followed by Nathan Gaspersic (Painesville, Ohio/Painesville Riverside), who finished in fourth with a 4.45m (14-07.25) mark.
Peyton Caldwell (Las Vegas, Nev./Liberty) ran a personal best 7.13 in the 60m dash prelims.
