Volleyball Heads to Buffalo for Two-Match Series

BUFFALO, N.Y. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University volleyball heads to Buffalo, N.Y., for a two-match Mid-American Conference (MAC) road series against the University at Buffalo inside Broadview Arena, with the first match set for Friday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. and the second Saturday, Oct. 10, at 4 p.m.

ALL-TIME AGAINST BUFFALO
Eastern Michigan leads the all-time series 23-12 across 35 meetings since 1996. The Eagles won the first 15 matches of the series consecutively, from 1996 through 2008, before Buffalo began to close the gap. The Bulls held a six-match winning streak from Oct. 29, 2021, until EMU snapped it with a 3-2 victory Oct. 24, 2025, in Ypsilanti — the most recent meeting between the programs.
Over the 2024 and 2025 seasons, Buffalo holds a 3-1 edge. The Bulls swept both matches in November 2024, winning 3-1 each time, before the teams split in 2025 — Buffalo took the first match 3-0 and EMU answered with the 3-2 victory the following evening.
LAST TIME OUT
The Eagles carry momentum into the weekend after sweeping Central Michigan 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-10) Saturday, Oct. 3, snapping a two-match skid and securing the program's first home win of the season. EMU recorded eight aces and 10 blocks as a team.
Nattie Slusher (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) paced the attack with eight kills and a career-high five service aces, finishing with 13.5 points. AshleeKay Christensen (Carlisle, Iowa/Carlisle) matched her 2026 season highs with nine kills and 10 digs, while Azra Eriç (Istanbul, Turkey/Kadir Has Anadolu lisesi/Robert Morris) led all players with five blocks. The setting duties were shared by Kaylin Richter (Temperance, Mich./Bedford), who posted a career-best 20 assists, and Lina Govoni (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West), who added 14. Surabhi Srinivasan (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) anchored the back row with 15 digs and three aces.
EMU has split its four MAC matches by alternating sweeps of Central Michigan with losses to Ohio and Western Michigan.

MILESTONES
Fourth-year defensive specialist/outside hitter Surabhi Srinivasan surpassed 860 career digs following the match against Central Michigan. Head coach Kevin Foeman earned his 192nd career victory with the second sweep against Central Michigan. First-year setter Lina Govoni has totaled 355assists this season, ranking 7th in the MAC at 6.34 per set.
