Foeman Announces 2025 Volleyball Schedule

The Eagles are set for 12 home matches and 31 in total

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University and third-year Head Volleyball Coach Kevin Foeman revealed the Eagles' 2025 volleyball schedule Tuesday, July 29.
The Eagles are set for 31 regular season matches, 12 of which will take place at the George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti, where admission is free, and 19 of which will be played on the road. Eastern will venture outside of Mid-American Conference (MAC) play often, as it will face 13 institutions outside of the MAC. Postseason action will begin Friday, Nov. 21, with the MAC Tournament.
Before opening the regular season, Eastern will welcome the Spartans of Michigan State University to the George Gervin GameAbove Center for an exhibition Saturday, Aug. 23, 6 p.m.
The Eagles will fly into the regular season heading east to Virginia for the Radford Invitational, hosted by Radford University, Aug. 29-30. EMU will open with two matches Friday, Aug. 29, against Radford, 1 p.m., and Marshall University, 4 p.m. Its final match of the tournament will take place Saturday, Aug. 30, against the University of Missouri-Kansas City, 11 a.m.
Next, EMU will travel west to face Washtenaw County rival, the University of Michigan Wednesday, Sept. 2, 6 p.m.
Eastern is slated to open the home portion of its regular season with the EMU Tournament, Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 4-6. The Eagles will welcome opponents from the University of Purdue-Fort Wayne, Valparaiso University, and Niagara University. The Green and White will begin the tournament Thursday, Sept. 4 with a 7 p.m. matchup versus Purdue Fort Wayne, followed by a matchup Friday, Sept. 5, against Valparaiso, 6 p.m., and finishing Saturday, Sept. 6, with Niagara, 11 a.m.
Heading back on the road, the Eagles will move on to Rochester, Mich., for the Golden Grizzlies Invitational, hosted by Oakland University, Sept. 12-13. Among Oakland, Eastern will go up against opponents from Xavier University and Southern Illinois University. EMU will open the weekend slate with two matches Friday, Sept. 12, starting with a matchup against Xavier, 12 p.m., followed by a battle with Southern Illinois, 4 p.m. It will conclude the invitational with one match Saturday, Sept. 13, against host Oakland, 3 p.m.
The Eagles wrap non-conference action at the Butler Invitational, hosted by Butler University in Indianapolis, Ind., Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 18-20. Eastern will first face Indiana University-Indianapolis at its home gym Thursday, Sept. 18, 7 p.m. Both Friday and Saturday's games will take place on the Butler campus as EMU is scheduled to face Oakland Friday, Sept. 19, 4 p.m., and round-out the non-conference season with a game against Butler Saturday, Sept. 20, 5 p.m.
The Eagles will start MAC play with a rivalry match as they will travel west to Kalamazoo, Mich., to face the Broncos of Western Michigan University Thursday, Sept. 25, 6 p.m.
Before returning home, EMU heads to DeKalb, Ill. to face Northern Illinois University Friday, Sept. 26, 5 p.m. CT (6 p.m. ET).
Eastern will host two matches to start the month of October, welcoming in Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo, Friday-Saturday, Oct. 3-4. The Eagles will open with Bowling Green Friday, Oct. 3, 6 p.m., and finish the following day with the Rockets, Saturday, Oct. 4, 4 p.m.
Next, EMU will head up-state for a rivalry match against Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant Tuesday, Oct. 7, 6 p.m.
Two consecutive contests against Kent State University will follow for the Eagles, as they will first battle the Golden Flashes at home in Ypsilanti Thursday, Oct. 9, 6 p.m., before facing off again the next day, Friday, Oct. 10, 4 p.m.
The Ohio Bobcats will host the Eagles for two matches before returning to Ypsilanti. The first match will take place Thursday, Oct. 16, 6 p.m., with the second starting at the same time the next day, Friday, Oct. 17.
After returning home from Ohio, EMU will open a season-long three-match homestand, Oct. 23-28. The University at Buffalo Bulls will travel to Ypsilanti for the first two contests of the home stretch as the first match will take place Thursday, Oct. 23, 6 p.m., with the second following Friday, Oct. 24, at the same time.
To complete the home-and-home series, Central Michigan will head south to Ypsilanti for a rematch to end Eastern's home stretch Tuesday, Oct. 28, 6 p.m.
Heading back to Ohio, the University of Akron Zips will welcome the Eagles to end the month of October and start the month of November. The first matchup will take place on Friday, Oct. 31, 6 p.m., and will finish the following night, Saturday, Nov. 1, 6 p.m.
The Eagles will play host to Ball State University to conclude the home portion of the schedule Thursday-Friday, Nov. 6-7, with both games starting at 6 p.m.
The regular season's final series will take place in Oxford, Ohio, with two matches versus Miami University, Friday-Saturday, Nov. 14-15. Friday's first serve will go off at 6:30 p.m. with the final regular season match starting at 4 p.m.
Eastern aims to begin its postseason campaign with the MAC Tournament, Friday-Sunday, Nov. 21-23. The tournament will be hosted by the institution who finishes first in the regular season.
