White (2012-16) fired a final-round 59 to set several records on his way to the win
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Brett White, a four-year standout for the Eastern Michigan University men's golf program from 2012-16, turned in an electric performance to win the 2025 Commissionaires Ottawa Open presented by Lepine Apartments, July 24-27, on Eagle Creek Golf Course in Ottawa, Ontario. The former Eagle captured the title on the par-72, 7,032-yard course in the PGA TOUR Americas stop to register his third professional win and his first in a PGA TOUR-sanction tournament.

"It was pretty special, it was a special day," White told the PGA TOUR Americas website following his victory. "To putt, to make a 63‑footer to break 60, personal best, all that good stuff, and to cap it off with a win in really solid playoff holes after kind of sitting around for an hour and a half. Yeah, it was a great day. Crazy day."
White, who previously posted wins at the 2019 Nevada Open and the 20220 Michigan Open, entered the final round five strokes off the lead before unleashing a 13-under 59 to finish tied for first at 26-under 262 (71-64-68-59). Just the third player in PGA TOUR Americas history to card a single-round 59, White not only posted the largest comeback in PGA TOUR Americas history but did so with a flourish as he drained a 63-foot putt for eagle on No. 18 to give him the clubhouse lead.
Following his nearly 90-minute wait for the rest of the field to finish, White was back on the tee box at No. 18 for a three-way playoff with Nathan Franks and Danny Fisher. Both White and Fisher recorded a birdie on the hole with Franks being eliminated with a par. White and Fisher returned to the tee box at No. 18 with White's birdie defeating Fisher's par.
Along with the win, White received 500 Fortinet Cup points, moving him up to No. 3 in the Cup standings with 916 points. Should White finish among the top 10 in Cup standings at the end of the PGA TOUR Americas season, he will earn exempt Korn Ferry Tour membership for the 2026 season. One year ago, White finished No. 112 in the Fortinet Cup standings.
