Eastern raced to 7:13.5 win over Dayton
RICHMOND, Va. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University rowing 1V8+ was named the Coastal Athletic Association's Boat of the Week, as announced by the CAA Tuesday, May 6.
The 1V8+ raced to a 7:13.5 showing against Dayton, May 3, earning Eastern's first race win of the season and helping the Eagles sweep the Flyers to celebrate Senior Day.
Ella Warrick (Livonia, Mich./Franklin) was the boat's coxswain while Bryah Moriarty (Christchurch, New Zealand/Burnside) was in the eighth seat, Abbi Lauth (Grosse Ile, Mich./Grosse Ile) was in the seventh seat, Lily Wilhelm (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville/Butler) was in the sixth seat, Emma Wyss (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg) was in the fifth seat, Ellie Latunski (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Central) was in the fourth seat, Brooke Karesh (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) was in the third seat, Gabby Charvat (Three Rivers, Mich./Three Rivers) was in the second seat, and Natalie Prairie (Clifton, Mich./Bishop McNamara Catholic) was in the first seat.
The 1V8+ is Eastern's fifth boat to win a CAA Boat of the Week honor all-time (established 2017) and the first to do so since EMU was recognized following the MACRA Championships, April 30, 2019.

Eastern Michigan travels to Pennsauken, N.J., for the CAA Championships, May 16-17, on the Cooper River. This will mark the final time that EMU will compete as an affiliate member of the CAA as the Mid-American Conference has added rowing ahead of the 2025-26 academic year.
