Sophomore helped Eagles to a record-breaking season

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Mid-American Conference announced its annual Academic All-MAC team for women's golf with Eastern Michigan University placing Riley Kim on the list, the league announced, May 20. A total of 29 student-athletes from around the conference were honored by maintaining at least a 3.2 grade-point average and competing in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions with players in their first year at an institution (freshmen and transfers) being ineligible for the award.

Kim (Aldie, Va./Lightridge) played 39 rounds on the season and average 77.3 strokes as she helped the team to a best four-player average of 300.9, bettering the record of 304.0 set in 2015-16. Her best tournament of the season came March 3-4 at the River Landing Classic in Wilmington, N.C., where she finished fourth overall at 2-over 218 (73-72-73), carding the best score of her career by four strokes and earning her first collegiate top 10 finish. Additionally, her 218 strokes tied for the 20th-best score in program history. Kim helped the team place third at the MAC Championships before playing in the Women's National Golf Invitational, the program's first postseason appearance in which the Eagles placed second overall.
