MAC Announces Indoor Track & Field Specialty Awards and All-MAC Teams

16 Eagles earned All-MAC Honors
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2025 MAC Indoor Championships Specialty Awards and All-MAC teams Friday, March 7. The list features 16 Eastern Michigan University student-athletes, 12 of which came from the men's team and four from the women.
Leading the Eastern men with All-MAC first team honors are Formula Thompson (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Jamaica College/Nebraska), who repeated as the indoor long jump champion and tied for the most points scored (18) on the team with Carson McCoy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Deer Lakes), who earned his second indoor 800m title in 1:52.40. Also landing on the first team is Kian Wiles (Hull, England/St. Mary's College) who won the mile in 4:11.90.
Nine Eagles from the men's team garnered second team honors. In the field, Jake McEachern (Lloydminster, Alberta/Lloydminster Comprehensive) placed second in the weight throw with a 17.99m (59-00.25) toss, while Brendan Hill (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne) earned silver in the high jump, leaping 2.08m (6-09.75).
With a second-place finish in 3:18.37, the men's 4x400m relay team of Tajay Roberts (Sunrise, Fla./Dillard), Bamidele Ajayi (Eikiti State, Nigeria/Metropolitan International College/Lenoir-Rhyne), Shelton Bass (Warner Robbins, Ga./Houston County/Alderson Broaddus), and Gabe Singh (Toledo, Ohio/Sylvania Northview/Oakland) all earned second team nods. Ajayi earned two silver medals, also placing second in the 400m dash finals in 48.43.
Also with a top-two finish was the men's distance medley relay team of Ty Dailey (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney), Josh Flake (Redford, Mich./Oak Park), Jimmy Geller (London, England/Davenant Foundation School), and McCoy, who earned silver in 10:07.46.
The women's lone first team honoree is Saraiah Walkes (Manatee County, Fla./The-Out-of-Door-Academy), who led the women's squad with 18 points, repeated as the indoor 200m champion in a meet record 23.74, and placed second in the 60m dash in 7.39.
Three Eastern women earned second team accolades in Marta Moreno (Wassenaar, Netherlands/American School of The Hague), Chloie Musta (Mesick, Mich./Cadillac), and Josephine Oloye (Iwaro-Oka, Nigeria/Geomi Secondary School/Tayelolu Memorial). Moreno earned the honor via her second-place showing in the 5000m run in 16:37.91, Musta did so with a second-place finish in the 800m finals in 2:09.11, and Oloye finished as the runner up in the 400m finals in 54.27.

The Eagles will embark on the outdoor portion of the season with a trio of meets, March 27-29. They will see action at the Texas Relays, hosted by the University of Texas, the Bobcat Invitational & Multi, hosted by Texas State University, and the Raleigh Relays, hosted by North Carolina State University.
