Boris, Brushwood Qualify for NCAA Regionals

Boris going in all-around and Brushwood qualified in floor

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) —  Senior Raisa Boris and sophomore Abby Brushwood of the Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team qualified for the NCAA Regionals in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 2-6, as announced March 24.

Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center)  qualified in all-around and Brushwood (State College, Pa./State College Area) qualified in floor.
 

Boris, who ranks third in the MAC with an NQS of 39.135, earned five all-around wins this season, highlighted by a 39.300 showing, Feb. 27. She competed at the 2024 NCAA Michigan Regionals, April 4, posting a 39.150 in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Brushwood has emerged as a star for Eastern this season on floor, producing 10-straight results of at least 9.800 in the event, which includes a pair of 9.900 efforts, most recently done at the MAC Championships, March 22. Brushwood earned of trio of wins on floor this season.

Boris is the first Eagle to qualify for NCAA Regionals in floor in back-to-back seasons since Emili Dobronics did so in 2018 and 2019 while Brushwood is the first Eagle to advance to the postseason since Jada Rondeau in 2021.

Eastern has sent at least one student-athlete to NCAA Regionals every year since falling short of the postseason in 2017.
