Duo is Eastern's first to both earn Second Team honors since 2010

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University men's basketball student-athletes Jalen Terry and Da'Sean Nelson have been recognized as All-Mid-American Conference Second Team, as voted on by the conference's 12 head coaches and revealed Wednesday, March 12.

Both Terry (Flint, Mich./Beecher/Oregon/DePaul) and Nelson (Toledo, Ohio/Robert S. Rogers/Kilgore College/DePaul) averaged 16.8 points per game during conference play while Terry (16.5 points per game) was second and Nelson (16.0 points per game) was fourth in the conference in overall scoring as Eastern is set to square with No. 2 seed Miami University Thursday, March 13, at approximately 4 p.m. in Cleveland, Ohio. Eagle fans can click here to purchase tickets and click here to secure a spot on the fan bus.

The dynamic duo have done more than just score for Eastern, though, as the pair makes the Eagles the only team in the nation to have multiple players averaging at least 16.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

Nelson is averaging 16.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists while Terry is averaging 16.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists. Nelson is one of just four players nationally to average at least 16.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks. Nelson averages 1.1 blocks  and 1.1 steals and is joined by Duke's Cooper Flagg, Northwestern's Brook Barnhizer, and UAB's Yaxel Lendeborg on the list. Nelson, averages 29.8 minutes, is the only player on the list that averages less than 30 minutes per contest. Terry is one of 19 players nationally to average at least 16.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals as the Flint, Mich., native tallies 1.6 swipes per contest.

Terry, who leads the MAC with 85 made three-pointers, and Nelson, who ranks fourth in the MAC with 1.4 blocks per game during conference play, represent the first Eastern duo since 2010 (Brandon Bowdry and Carlos Medlock) to each be named at least All-MAC Second Team.
