Swim and Dive Travels to Bowling Green Friday

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University swim and dive teams will travel for the first time this season to compete against Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, Nov. 7, 6 p.m.

All-Time Against Bowling Green
The Eagles hold the lead in the all-time series with a 30-14 record against the Falcons, and a 13-6 record when facing them at Bowling Green. Eastern has won nine of the last 10 matchups, including when the teams last met in the 2023-2024 season, a meet that the Eagles won with a score of 173-114.

Strong Performances Against Reigning Champs Akron
In the Eagles' most recent meet, a loss to reigning Mid-American Conference (MAC) Champions, University of Akron, four swimmers earned event wins, along with multiple podium spots from the diving boards. For the swimmers, Nehir Oz (Istanbul, Turkey/Cevre), won two events, with a time of 10:23.47 in the 1000y freestyle, and a personal-best time of 2:26.53 in the 250y freestyle. Nina Larosa (Bay Village, Ohio/Bay), won the 50y breaststroke with a time of 29.44 (CSCAA B-Cut). Tristen Mina (Santa Clara, Calif./The King's Academy), also won an event, finishing the 100y individual medley in 59.20, the only swimmer to break the one-minute mark. Additionally, Earning her first collegiate win, Marianna Fardella (Serres, Greece/40 Geniko Lykeio Serron), finished the 100y backstroke with a time of 57.60. 

On the diving side, sophomore Rose Kendrick (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva), was named MAC Diver of the Week, Nov. 4, after earning her first collegiate win against Akron with a personal-best score of 265.35 points in the three-meter. She also earned a podium spot in the one-meter, finishing second with another personal-best score of 245.40 points. Also earning podium spots was Marnie Howard (Bloomington, Ill./Normal Community West), finishing third in the three-meter with a score of 235.43, and Cate Migliori (Stockton, Calif./San Joaquin Delta College), finishing third in the one-meter with 232.05 points.

The Eagles will next compete Nov. 20, when they travel to Rochester, Mich. to compete against Oakland University.
