Kessinger Selected MAC Special Teams Player of the Week

Kicker accounted for 10 of the Eagles’ points in a 16-10 win over NIU
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — For the second time this season, Eastern Michigan University football's Rudy Kessinger has been named the Mid-American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced today, Oct. 13. Kessinger was responsible for 10 of the Eagles' 16 points in their 16-10 home win over Northern Illinois University, Oct. 11, in Ypsilanti.
Kessinger (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) tied his career-high with three field goals (35, 49 and 28) as he was a perfect 3-of-3 on the day while adding one extra point for 10 points in the game, marking his third game with 10+ points this season. Kessinger's first two kicks gave the Eagles their first two leads of the game (3-0 and 6-3) before his third added to a late 13-10 lead to make it 16-10 with 5:40 to play. Kessinger, who is averaging 2.0 field goals per game, leads the MAC with 8.3 points per game, 58 total points, and 14 field goals.
Eastern returns to action Saturday, Oct. 18, when it travels to Yaeger Stadium in Oxford, Ohio, to face the RedHawks of Miami University in a game that will kick off at 12 p.m. on ESPN+. Tom Helmer (play-by-play), Rob Rubick (analyst), Elena Davis (sideline), and Greg Steiner (halftime show) will have all the action live on WEMU (89.1 FM), The Varsity Network app, and SiriusXM radio.
