NJCAA National Champion will begin play with EMU this month

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Josh Brewer, head coach of the Eastern Michigan University women's golf program, announced today, Jan. 2, the signing of Angelica Holman to an Athletic Financial Aid Agreement to continue her academic and athletic career with the Eagles. An NJCAA National Champion, Holman is the second signee that will join the team for its 2025 spring season that starts at the end of January.

"We want to thank Angelica and her family for believing in our vision at Eastern Michigan," Brewer said. "I signed her at Georgia and always wanted to coach Angelica as she has the talent to play on the LPGA Tour. By adding Angelica for the spring, we know we have taken another step toward achieving our postseason goals."

Holman (Fort Pierce, Fla./Lincoln Park Academy/Daytona State/Georgia) comes to Ypsilanti from Georgia where she was enrolled during the fall but did not compete for the Bulldogs. Prior to her arrival in Athens, she played two years at Daytona State College where she helped the Falcons to the 2024 NJCAA Championship crown by claiming medalist honors with an 8-under 284 performance, the fifth-best score in NJCAA Championship history. In 19 events for DSC, Holman placed in the top 10 six times and carried an average of 75.74 over 54 rounds played.

Prior to her collegiate success, Holman was a standout for Lincoln Park Academy in Fort Pierce, Fla., where she was the 2020 Florida Class 1A state champion after shooting a 6-under 138, a score that ranked first among all 266 golfers that competed in the three FHSAA tournaments that year. The 12th-place finisher in the state meet as a senior, Holman added medalist honors at the 2021 Florida Girls' Junior Championships and collected two more top three finishes that year when she placed second at the AJGA Junior at Stoneybrook and third at the Billy Horschel Junior presented by Zurich.

Brewer has signed six players since the signing period opened in December with Holman and Erina Tan (Belmont, Western Australia/Mount Lawley Senior HS) set to join the team when the Eagles open their spring slate Jan. 24 in Arizona.

Holman's signing gives the Eagles another highly ranked player from the NJCAA/NAIA ranks as Baiyok Sukterm (Bang Yi, Thailand/Panitchayakan Rajdamnern Tech/Barton CC/Lindsey Wilson), who will join the Eagles in August, is currently the top-ranked player in the NAIA after taking runner-up honors at the 2024 NJCAA Division I Championships.

The current Eagles recently completed their fall schedule and will return to action when they open the 2025 spring season at the Match in the Desert, Monday, Jan. 27, at Gold Canyon, Ariz. The University of Kansas will host the single round event that will feature several teams ranked highly in the national polls.
