How it Happened – Spartan Invitational, April 5
The Eagles' performances were highlighted by first-place showings from Elena Wheeler (Plymouth, Mich./Salem) and Joey Furlong (Deer Park, Ill./Barrington). Wheeler placed first in the unseeded 800m run in an outdoor personal-best 2:28.21, while Furlong claimed gold in the 5,000m run in 14:58.04.

Leilah Toran (Pflugerville, Texas/Hendrickson) also had a strong showing, placing second in the triple jump with a bound of 11.09m.

How it Happened – Jim Click Invitational, April 5-6
After topping her own discus record with a 48.31m sling at the Clyde Hart Classic, March 22-23, Cadwell claimed her second school record of the season with a 62.01m (203-05) mark in the hammer throw, finishing third.

The Eagles multi-athletes excelled in the first day of the heptathlon and decathlon. In the heptathlon, Scott ended the first day with 2,637 points, the seventh-best day one heptathlon figure in program history. In the decathlon, Doolittle finished day one with 3,303 points, the sixth-best day one mark in program history, while Jeffery notched 3,411 points, the fifth-best number in the first day in EMU history.

Both Doolittle and Jeffery checked into the program top-10 in day two scoring of the decathlon as well. Jeffery's 2,700 points were good for eighth on the EMU leader boards while Doolittle's 2,521 points stand as the 10th-best.

Esme Davies (Lake District, England/Queen Elizabeth Grammar School) and Kyra Buffen (Columbus, Ga./Buford/Benedict) saw the Eastern women's highest finishes of the meet. Davies placed second in the 3,000m run in an outdoor personal-best 9:39.57, as Buffen collected silver in the triple jump, leaping 12.31m.

The women's 3,000m steeplechase was strong for the Green and White where Anita Zaro (Timisoara, Romania/Faculty of Physical Education and Sport) placed third in a personal-best 10:43.38, the sixth-best time in program history. Kayla Muir (Ida, Mich./Ida/Stautzenberger College) followed immediately behind, finishing fourth in 11:50.77.

Ryan Johnson (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) continues to climb the hammer throw leader boards as he heaved the hammer 66.74m (218-11) for a fourth-place finish, marking the second-farthest toss in school history.

In the long jump, Formula Thompson (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Jamaica College) tied current US Olympian and former Eagle Donald Scott's best outdoor long-jump mark (EMU #8), as Thompson leaped 7.58m (24-10.50) for a third-place finish.

In the men's triple jump, Yvan Lopes Ribeiro (Nice, France/Lycée Honoré d'Estiennes d'Orves/American International) and Eric Haddock Jr. (Raleigh, N.C./Southeast Raleigh/Appalachian State) went two and three. Lopes Ribeiro leaped 14.71m (48-03.25) while Haddock Jr. soared 14.55m (47-09.00).

Sam Peterson (Charlevoix, Mich./Charlevoix) and Linus Vennemann (Osnabrück, Lower Saxony, Germany/Gymnasium "In der Wüste") both dominated the 3,000m races. In the steeplechase, Vennemann placed second in 9:20.46, followed by Peterson in third in a personal-best 9:21.13. Both would set personal-best in the 3,000m run, with Vennemann again placing second, this time in 8:41.48, as Peterson followed in fourth in 8:51.47.

Ronnie Brandal (Huron, Ohio/Huron) displayed his mid-distance prowess in the 800m run, grabbing silver in a personal-best 1:48.47, cracking the program top-10 leader boards at No. 10.
