Miller Reaches Century Mark in Hits as Baseball is Bested by Miami in Series Finale

Miller becomes the second Eagle this season to reach the 100-career hits mark
How it Happened
After Miller (Pentwater, Mich./Pentwater/Spring Arbor) reached the century mark with his first inning leadoff single, he was driven-in by Giano Zuccaro (Middleburg Heights, Ohio/Berea Midpark/Charleston), giving the Eagles the early 1-0 advantage.
The RedHawks would answer in their half of the second with two runs via sacrifice flies.
Zuccaro went to work at the plate again in the third inning, this time bringing home Lucas Johnson (Hamilton, Ontario/Westdale Secondary/Wright State) on a single through the right side of the infield.
Miami would plate seven unanswered runs from the bottom of the third through the seventh inning. In the top of the eighth, The Eagles trimmed the RedHawk's lead to six on a two-out solo homer from Aidan Arbogast (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson/Mid-Michigan/Kellogg C.C.).
Miami scored four runs in the ensuing half inning, concluding the game in eight innings with a 13-3 win.
Game Notes
» Zuccaro drove in two Eastern baserunners, bringing his RBI total to 28 on the season and marking his eighth multi-RBI game.
» Mat Sanfilippo (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder/Niagara C.C.) recorded two Division I career-highs with four strikeouts on the mound and 2.0 innings pitched after entering the game in relief effort in the bottom of the sixth.
» Arbogast homered for the fifth time this season, as he left the park to center field in the top of the eighth inning. His home run also extended his hit streak to six consecutive games.
» Blake McRae (Armada, Mich./Romeo/Lansing C.C.) knocked his 51st hit of the season with a single to right field in the first. McRae now has at least one hit in five straight contests.
» Cooper Vance (New Waterford, Ohio/Mohawk) drew two walks in the game, elevating his base-on-balls total to 17 this season, and marking his third game with multiple walks this season.
Historical Notes
» With his first inning leadoff single, Miller reached the 100-hit mark in his Eastern Michigan career. Miller became the second Eagle to do so this season, as Logan Hugo (Essexville, Mich./Essexville Garber) previously accomplished the feat with a first inning homer against the University of Akron, April 19.
» Sunday's contest marked the 133rd all-time between the Eagles and RedHawks. After the game, Eastern produces a 64-69 record when facing Miami.

The Eagles will not play a mid-week game in the upcoming week. They next see action Friday, May 3, as they are slated to begin a three-game conference series at the University of Toledo. Friday's first pitch is set for 3 p.m.
