The Eagles and Rockets will play game two tomorrow, Saturday, May 4, at 1 p.m.

TOLEDO, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University baseball team fell in an extra innings affair to the University of Toledo Rockets, 10-9, at Scott Park Friday, May 3.

How it Happened
The Eagles got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the top of the first inning. Eastern Michigan struck first thanks to junior Giano Zuccaro's (Middleburg Heights, Ohio/Berea Midpark/Charleston) two-out RBI double.

The Eagles lost the lead they built in the first, but got back on the board in the fifth trailing 3-1. Eastern Michigan produced a two-run frame, punctuated with an RBI triple from senior Glenn Miller (Pentwater, Mich./Pentwater/Spring Arbor), which evened the score at 3-3.

That 3-3 tie turned into an 8-3 Eastern Michigan lead in the sixth. The Eagles bats heated up in the inning, scoring five runs, including a two-run single off the bat of sophomore Drew Jones (Cleveland, Ohio/Brush/Ohio State).

Eastern Michigan surrendered the lead they built in the sixth, but got back on the scoreboard in the ninth trailing 9-8. Senior Cole Wilcox (Shiocton, Wis./Shiocton/Lake County) crossed home plate with the lone run of the inning for the Eagles, evening the score at 9-9.

Toledo then scored the game-winning run via a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning, concluding the contest in a 10-9 victory for Toledo.
