Eastern Divers Complete NCAA Zone Diving Championships

The NCAA will announce diving qualifiers for the 2024 Women’s NCAA Swimming & Diving National Championships, Sunday, March 17.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University divers competed against some of the best divers in the country at the 2024 NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, hosted by the University of Louisville, at the Ralph Wright Natatorium, Thursday-Saturday, March 14-16.
How it Happened
In the 1m dive prelims, Camryn Hughes (London, Ontario/Sire Frederick Banting Secondary) paced the EMU divers, finishing 29th out of 56 competitors while scoring 231.55 points in the six-dive format.
Immediately followed by Hughes was Ciara Wheeler (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston), in 30th, scoring 229.80 points. Keira Veltigian (Oxford, Mich./Oxford) also placed in the 30s, slotting 38th with 220.55 points.
Savannah Fisk (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) placed 46th, posting 208.35 points, while Rebekah Knapp (Mesa, Ariz./Mesa) rounded out EMU's divers in the 1m, placing 51st, notching 197.75 points.
The trio of Hughes, Knapp, and Veltigian also made the cut for the 3m competition.
The 3m saw Eastern's highest finish of the meet, as Knapp finished 26th out of 50 divers, scoring 250.00 points. Hughes scored 233.55 points on her way to placing 35th, while Veltigian slotted 41st with 224.50 points.
