MAC HONORS SWEEP: Senior gymnast Raisa Boris earned MAC Gymnast of the Week honors for the second time this season, while EMU freshman Abby Brushwood was named the MAC Specialist of the Week, for the first time in her career, the league announced, Feb. 6.

SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: EMU senior gymnast Raisa Boris earned MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season, the league announced, Jan. 31. Boris received the honor after her stellar performance in the weekend victory over NIU and CMU, Jan. 28.
The Minnesota native took the top-spot in not only the all-around event with a 39.400 score, but she also contributed three first-place finishes: Bars – 9.850, Beam – 9.875, and Floor – 9.925. Boris has led the Eagles in multiple events throughout the season and has won the all-around gymnast title in three meets.

KEY EAGLE: Awarded after every contest, the EMU gymnastics coaches choose one gymnast to anoint as that meet's Key Eagle. Senior Katie Butler earned the honor after the home meet against WMU, Feb. 2. In that meet, Butler earned a career high 9.650 on the beam.

BRUSHWOOD LANDS ON TOP: Freshman Abby Brushwood led the Eagles on floor with a career high 9.900 to secure first place in the event versus WMU, Feb. 2. The top spot was Brushwood's first with the Eagles, which also earned her the rookies' first MAC Specialist of the Week honor.

BORIS STAYS CONSISTENT: Senior Raisa Boris has stayed consistent on three of the four events as an all-arounder. On bars, her recent 9.850 in the home meet versus the Broncos, Feb. 2, was her fourth consecutive 9.800 or above on the apparatus. On beam, her 9.825 contributed to her third consecutive 9.800 or above. Finally, Boris' 9.800 on floor was the senior's sixth consecutive 9.800 or above in the event. Along with her great success on individual events, Boris' all-around tie for first place against WMU secured her third consecutive all-around win and her fourth overall this season.

EAGLES PERSONAL BESTS: Along with Abby Brushwood, three more Eagles achieved career bests against WMU, Feb. 2. Jackie Patterson earned a 9.775 on vault. Jordan Jankowski scored a 9.850 on bars as well as first place in the event. Katie Butler attained a personal best on beam with a 9.650.

EAGLES STAY ON TOP: An Eagle has consistently landed on top of the leaderboard in two different events as Raisa Boris has placed first on floor at four of the five last meets, while Ella Chemotti has placed first on beam at three of the four meets. The only meet the two did not achieve first place in was the duel against Big Ten member Minnesota, Jan. 13.

HISTORY WITH THE FALCONS: The Eagles will face off against Bowling Green for the first time this season and the 25th in program history. The last time the Eagles and Falcons met was March 12, 2023, where EMU took the win in a close 195.800-195.250 victory. The all-time record against BGSU is 13-11 with the Eagles on top.

EMU has consistently moved up in the rankings over the past four weeks.
