Swim and Dive Celebrates 2024 Senior Class at Annual Senior Extravaganza

The celebration included a mix of traditional swimming and diving events with fun games involving the athletes' parents
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University swim and dive team honored its eight seniors at its annual Senior Extravaganza, held at the Jones Natatorium Saturday, Feb. 3.
The Eagles honored seniors Savannah Fisk (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea); Tierney Fraidenburg (Ann Arbor, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer); Taylor Harris (Tiffin, Ohio/Calvert/Bowling Green State); Camryn Hughes (London, Ontario/Sir Frederick Banting Secondary); student manager Mallorie Johnson, Katie Shoen (Owego, N.Y./Owego Free Academy); Keira Veltigian (Oxford, Mich./Oxford); and Abbey Whipple (State College, Pa./State College Area).
A non-traditional meet, the team took part in a combination of traditional swimming and diving events, along with fun, 1970s themed games.
Games played included parent & athlete musical chairs; a disco splash duo, where a swimmer pairs with a diver to execute a disco-themed dive; a limbo fiesta, where the athletes and their respective father display their limbo skills while attempting to strike a 70s dance move in the process; a swimmer and diver combined relay; and many more.

The Eagles will attend the Michigan First Chance meet, hosted by the University of Michigan at the Canham Natatorium in Ann Arbor, Mich. Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 17-18. Start times will be announced at a later date.
