Last Time Out
The Eagles took on competition Friday-Saturday, Feb. 9-10, at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University; the Music City Challenge, hosted by Vanderbilt University; and the Tyson Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas.

Friday, Feb. 9
Paige Marchant's (London, Ontario/Catholic Central) performance in the mile run at the David Hemery Valentine Invite went down as the fastest EMU women's mile in program history as the freshman ran the race in a blistering 4:38.91. The outing marks her fourth program top-10 time of the season, stands as the second-fastest mile in the MAC this season, and broke a Canadian under-20 record that held since 2003.

Aleah Johnson (Botkins, Ohio/Botkins) set a personal-best for the second consecutive meet in the weight throw at the Music City Challenge, tossing the weight 16.33m (53-07.00), marking the ninth-farthest toss in Eagles' history.

In the same meet, Natalie Buratczuk (Saint Charles, Ill./Saint Charles North) placed first in the high jump, leaping 1.65m (05-05.00). Nyla Joseph-Guevara (Coral Springs, Fla./Fort Lauderdale) notched a second-place outing in the open long jump via a bound of 5.71m (18-08.00), marking a personal-best for the junior.

The men's performances Friday were highlighted by Formula Thompson (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Jamaica College/Nebraska), who placed second in the long jump at the Tyson Invitational, jumping 7.57m (24-10.00), marking a personal-best and improving his EMU top-10 standing in the event from No. 8 to No. 4. His leap tied former EMU great and United States Olympian Donald Scott for the fourth-farthest in Eastern history.

At the Music City Challenge, Jake McEachern (Lloydminster, Alberta/Lloydminster Comprehensive) captured his first, first-place finish in the weight throw, tossing the weight 18.93m (62-01.00). In the pole vault, Jacob Niedzwiecki (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) took third place with a personal-best vault, 4.85m (15-11.00).

Saturday, Feb. 10
The Eagles' female pole vaulters excelled at the Music City Challenge as all three set personal-best marks while Fleur van der Linden (Drunen, Netherlands/d'Oultremont College) placed third in the open round of the event with a vault of 3.83m (12-06.75), a vault that ranks 10th in program history.

On top of van der Linden's day, Megan Rybitski (Dayton, Ohio/Wayne) and Maura Lane (Cary, N.C./Panther Creek/Campbell) both set personal bests, vaulting 3.57m (11-08.50) and 3.81m (12-06.00), respectively.

At the Music City Challenge, Eric Haddock Jr. (Raleigh, N.C./Southeast Raleigh/Appalachian State) earned the top-finish of the day for the men, placing second in the triple jump with a bound of 14.76m (48-05.25), marking his second, second-place finish in the event this season.

The unseeded 800m proved to be a strong point for the Eastern men, as freshmen Ty Dailey (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) and Lachlan Cornelius (Queensland, Australia/Anglican Church Grammar School) each set PRs in the event in 1:54.47 and 1:58.02, respectively.
