JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University junior Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) notched a 54-hole tally of 227 (75-77-75) for 35th at the Georgia State Invitational, March 28. For Watson, it marked the 17th time in her career she has finished inside the top-35 spots at a tournament. Overall, she tallied five birdies and 33 pars over the course of the three rounds for the Eagles.
Boston College's Stephany Kim won the event with a two-under 214 (72-70-72) on the par 72, 6,170-yard Rivermont Golf Club setup.
As a team, Eastern Michigan finished 13th at the competition, posting a score of 930 (321-299-310). Lipscomb posted a four stroke victory over Charlotte, recording an 867 (296-284-287).
How It Happened
Sophomore Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota) tied for 58th with a 232 (77-75-80). Dull was one of just three players in the field to record an eagle during the tournament, picking up the rarity today on the par five, 10th hole. Meanwhile, senior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) took 66th with a two-day cumulative of 234 (83-74-77).
Sophomore Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School) rebounded after a slow start to close with rounds of 73 and 78 for a 237 (86-73-78) in 75th. Senior Adeline Lau (Sa Rawak, Malaysia-SMK Bintulu-Michigan Dearborn) wrapped up the tournament in 89th with a 271 (89-89-93).
