SOUTHERN PINES, N.C.(EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team completed its final round at the Ross Collegiate Classic Tuesday, March 14, finishing in 16th in the extremely competitive field with a 902 (303-301-298). Junior Patrick Deardorff (Clarkston, Mich.-Clarkston) finished tied for 36th, posting an even-par 72 in the final round on the par 72, 6,713-yard Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club.
South Florida won the team race at 15-under 849, 10 shots in front of Loyola (Md.). George Washington's Jakub Hrinda (66-69-68=203) was the individual champion at 13-under, one stroke ahead of Loyola-Chicago's Timmy Crawford (70-67-68=205).
How It Happened
Deardorff posted his fifth round of par-or-better this season with a final round 72. The junior's best golf was played on the par fives, as the Clarkston, Mich., product was a combined four-under on those setups during the tournament.
Senior Cam Kellett (London, Ontario-Saint Thomas Aquinas-Nevada) finished with a 224 (75-72-77) in 42nd-place, while freshman Nathaniel Gray Lamont (Guelph, Ontario-Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute) tied for 68th with a 230 (77-78-75). Freshmen Cooper Eberle (Richmond Ky.-Madison Central) and Logan Graf (Sylvan Lake, Alberta-HJ Cody) rounded out the scoring with a 232 (76-82-74) and a 237 (80-75-82), respectively.
