Men Win Four Events, Women Grab Eight Top-Three Finishes at Silverston Invitational

The event took place today at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Silverston Invitational, hosted by the University of Michigan, today, Feb. 17, in Ann Arbor.
The men's team posted four individual champions, four second place finishes and a trio of third place finishers while the women's team had eight top three finishes to highlight the night.
How it Happened
Almighty Williamson (Baltimore, Md.-Digital Harbor-Barton C.C.) won the 60 meter hurdles in 8.0004 seconds, just ahead of teammate Payne Wylie (Elstow, Saskatchewan-Colonsay School) (8.009), who settled for second.
The Eagles took three of the top four spots in the long jump as Eric Haddock Jr., (Raleigh, N.C.-Southeast Raleigh-Appalachian State) won with a leap of 6.88 meters, Formula Thompson (St. Catherine, Jamaica-Jamaica College-Nebraska) was second (6.66 meters) and Dahndray Holmes (Clarksville, Tenn.-Rossview-Highland CC) placed fourth (6.39 meters).
Richie Sadler (Greenville, S.C.-Greer-Coastal Carolina) won the triple jump (14.82 meters) while Haddock Jr. was second (14.38 meters).
Linus Venneman (Osnabruck, Lower Saxony, Germany-Gymnasium "In der Wuste") won the 800 meters and set a PR with a time of 1:52.25.
Also placing second for Eastern Michigan was Newlyn Stephenson (Gary, Ind.-Bowman Leadership Academy) in the weight throw (22.61 meters).
The Eagles had three men place third, Kaleb Simpson (Bexley, Ohio-St. Charles Prep.) in the 60 meters (6.89), Josh Flake in the 400 meters (50.61) and Sam Peterson (Charlevoix, Mich.-Charlevoix) in the 800 meters with a personal best time of 1:54.70.
On the women's side, Alysse Wade (Mansfield, Ohio-St. Peter's) won the 60 meter hurdles (8.50) to lead the Eagles.
Five Eagles placed second, Angel Gazaway (Cincinnati, Ohio-Princeton) in the 60 meter hurdles (8.57), Antonia Woods (Winchester Ohio-Grovesport Madison) in the long jump (5.53 meters), Miranda Cadwell (Plainfield, Ill.-Plainfield South) and in the weight throw (17.95 meters), Nyla Joseph-Guevara (Coral Springs, Fla.-Fort Lauderdale) in the triple jump with a personal best of 11.11 meters and Maura Lane (Cary, N.C.-Panther Creek-Campbell) in the pole vault (3.66 meters).
Joseph-Guevara also took third in the long jump (5.50 meters) and Kilani Harvey (Orlando, Fla.-Jones-Highland C.C.) was third in the 200 meters (25.07).

» Joseph-Guevara was second in the triple jump (11.11 meters) and Kayla Muir (5:23.30) was 14th in the mile with personal best marks.
