Almighty Williamson Tabbed MAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week

The honor marks the second of Williamson's career

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University track and field hurdler Almighty Williamson was tabbed the Mid-American Conference's (MAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced today, Dec. 6. The honor marks Williamson's second of his collegiate career as he previously earned the award in his first season with the Eagles, Jan. 13, 2022.

Williamson (Baltimore, Md./Digital Harbor/Barton C.C.) earned the accolade via his performance in the 60-meter hurdles at the Saginaw Valley State University Holiday Open, hosted by SVSU at the SVSU Field House in University Center, Mich., Dec. 1-2. After clearing the hurdles in 8.12 in the preliminary round, the graduate student turned on the jets to clock in at 7.90 for a first-place finish in the finals.

Williamson's time ranks as the fastest in the MAC this season, and currently stands as the seventh-fastest time in the nation this season.

Williamson and the Eagles are next in action at the University of Michigan Wolverine Invitational Jan. 13, held at the Michigan Indoor Track Building in Ann Arbor, Mich.
