KEWADIN,(EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University sophomore Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School) fired rounds of 71 and 73 for an opening day tally of even-par 144 at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational Sunday, Sept. 4. The Maple, Ontario product holds a two-shot lead over Oakland University's Bridget Boczar and Central Michigan University's Casilda Allendesalazar heading into the final round at the par 72, 5,832-yard A-Ga-Ming Sundance course.
As a team, EMU posted an opening round 304 before following it up with a 301 in the afternoon. EMU sits fourth with a 605, as Central Michigan holds the lead with a 596 (296-300). Oakland is second with a 597 and Western Michigan University in third at 604.
How It Happened
DiMarcantonio tied her career best in the first round with a 71, previously she posted the same score to begin the day at the Lady Jaguar Invitational, April 16-17, 2022. She finished fourth at that event in Indianapolis and is looking for her first career win.
Sophomore Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota) is tied for fifth at 149 (74-75), while senior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) added a 152 (77-75) for a tie in 16th-place. Senior Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit) notched a 162 (82-80) and junior Tatyana Nyambane (Nairobi, Kenya-Nord Anglia International School Dubai) resides in a tie for 43rd with a 169 (91-78). Meanwhile, playing as an individual, senior Adeline Lau (Sa Rawak, Malaysia-SMK Bintulu-Michigan Dearborn) is tied for 43rd with a 169 (85-84)..
